Built from the inside of a real cafe
I created Hospo as a practical system for my own cafe, Jim’s on Lord Howe Island, then grew it into a flexible app for independent cafes and hospitality businesses that want clearer systems without adding more complexity.
Why Hospo Exists.
Running a cafe means keeping track of far more than what customers see.
There are lists to update, recipes to maintain, staff questions to answer, prep to manage, orders to prepare, deliveries to check, waste to understand, timesheets to review, and small daily issues that quietly become bigger problems when they are not handled properly.
Hospo started because I needed a better way to manage those systems inside my own cafe.
At first, it was built to serve the way my cafe actually worked. Over time, I made it more flexible and modular so other cafe owners could shape it around their own business instead of forcing their team into a rigid system.
Less Paper. Fewer Questions. Better Systems.
Hospo helps business move important information out of folders, clipboards, printed sheets, scattered messages, and people's heads.
It gives staff one place to find the lists, recipes, procedures, updates, tasks, ordering information, records, and business knowledge they need to do their job.
For owners and managers, that means less reprinting, less re-explaining, less chasing, and more confidence that the business is not relying entirely on memory.
Simple Enough for Staff. Flexible Enough for Owners.
Hospo is not built to be a heavy enterprise system.
It is built for independent cafes and hospitality businesses that need practical tools their staff will actually use.
You can start with simple lists, then turn on recipes, staff communication, ordering, deliveries, waste, timesheets, or AI support as you implement Hospo into your workflows. The goal is not to make every business work the same way. The goal is to make your business easier to run in its own way.
About James.
I'm James Lonergan, the founder and creator of Hospo, and owner of Jim's Cafe on Lord Howe Island, one of Australia’s prime tourist destinations.
My background is in the intersection of hospitality and technology. I have over a decade experience in coffee, cafe operations, and practical business systems, as well as software design and development, automation, and business management.
Hospo came from the overlap of those things: wanting better tools for the real work of running a cafe, not just another app that looked good but did not fit the way staff actually work.
I built Hospo because I wanted my own team to have clearer systems, easier access to information, and less reliance on me remembering or explaining everything.
That same idea now shapes the whole product.
Software and Support.
Hospo gives cafe owners a practical system to run more of the business from one place.
For owners who want more personal support, I also offer coaching. Coaching is for hospitality business owners who want help improving staff systems, workflow, coffee and product quality, ordering, waste, costings, decision-making, and to relieve the pressure of running the business over time by implementing lasting solutions to recurring issues.
